Why are we named Teppa Books?

‘Teppa Books’ bookshop is run by and behalf of charity SWORDE-Teppa. The book shop is non-profit making and its sole purpose is to generate funds for our charitable objects as set out on the Charity Commission for England and Wales website.

Do we stock new books?

‘Teppa Books’ bookshop stocks; new, good as new, vintage and antique books. We also sell online via this website and ABE Books, and can order any new or old book online through our supplier. Books ordered online usually arrive within 3 working days, subject to supply.

What other things apart from books do we stock?

We stock DVDS, CDS, cards, bookmarks, jewellery, maps, and many more curiosity items. 

Do we take donations?

Donations are vital to supporting our work and allow us to continue our charitable projects, helping many thousands of beneficiaries and protecting the environment. You can donate at our shop, directly to our charity account, or via PayPal.

What projects are the profits used for?

SWORDE-Teppa's projects focus on the environment, climate change and tree planting, education, English language teaching and teacher training, health & hygiene, youth & sport and culture & tourism projects.

Are we Mr Books?

No, Teppa Books is NOT associated with Mr. Books. Teppa Books is an independent bookshop in Tonbridge, that is run by and supports registered charity SWORDE-Teppa projects. If you would like to support our cause, you can purchase books on-site, from this website and ABE books.

Where does SWORDE-Teppa work?

SWORDE-Teppa works in the beautiful and friendly Central Asian country of Tajikistan. Our work is predominantly based in the southern part of the country in Khatlon region, bordering Afghanistan. We are based in Bokhtar City, but implement many projects  in other districts in the region.

Are there volunteering opportunities at Teppa Books?

Yes, Teppa Books relies heavily on kind and enthusiastic volunteers offering their time and knowledge to help us keep our bookstore open. If you would like to volunteer, you can email us or visit us in person during our opening hours. We would love to meet you!
